Local service businesses in Prince George — salons, cleaners, tutors, trades — often rely on phone calls, DMs, and word of mouth to fill their calendars. Customers have no single place to discover who is available, compare reviews, or book online.

We built BookLocalPG as a community marketplace: providers get a professional booking page and operations dashboard at no cost, and customers get a directory they can search, filter, and book from in minutes.

The browse page is where discovery starts. Customers search by business or service name, filter by category, rating, and neighbourhood, and land on provider profiles with photos, reviews, services, and availability.

Booking works two ways depending on the service. Fixed-price appointments — haircuts, facials, standard visits — can be booked instantly by picking an open time slot. Hourly services like cleaning or handyman work use a request flow: the customer describes the job, the provider follows up, and the appointment is confirmed from there.

Each provider gets a public profile and a dashboard to run the business. They build out their service menu, set weekly hours, block off days or time ranges, and manage bookings, quote requests, and reviews from one place.

The calendar gives a clear picture of what's coming — appointments, open requests, and blocked time — with a layout that works on desktop and mobile. A customer directory, email log, and help centre round out the day-to-day toolkit.

New providers go through a short onboarding flow and a manual review before appearing in the directory, so customers only see complete, vetted listings.

BookLocalPG is free by design. There are no tiers, no feature gates, and no commission on bookings — the goal is to make professional online booking accessible to every local provider in Prince George.

We focused on clarity over complexity: consistent layouts across the dashboard, straightforward booking flows for customers, and automated emails that handle confirmations, reminders, and review requests without extra work for the provider.
